If you want your kid to have a good school career move them here before 4th grade or it's over.between 5th,6th,and 7th grade you will soon relize the town is based strictly off of politics. And the parents don't even get me started they're a different breed of "involved in their kids school life". One parent wanted to be the Stillwater tax accessor just so they could no everybody on a more personal level. Also if your child gets in a fight with a kid that has been in the school for more than 3 years,no matter the circumstances your kid that's been here for 1 year will absolutely be blamed not even a question. Please for your child's sake don't move them here.
As a full time working parent of children who have attended since kindergarten, I am regretful in my decision to raise my children in this school district. This is a "it's who you know" school with standards that go no further than the papers they were written on. One of the schools policies is zero tolerance on bullying, this couldn't be further from the truth. Sports offerings, if you donate a lot of money and are well known in the school and community, your child might have a chance to participate, most athletes have parents that work in the school or are high fund raisers for the school. When your child needs help with learning, extra credit, or any type of difficulties with the material, if you are not in the "Well known" category, you are pushed aside and known as a failure. I would not recommend anyone raise their child/children in this small community and school district.
